In the early morning hours of Sunday, January 2, 2022, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) tweeted misleading information about the “extremely high amounts of Covid vaccine deaths” with visualized data from a government database of raw, unverified data on her personal account @MTGreenee.
This account would ultimately be suspended the same day after Greene received her "5th strike" for violating Twitter's medical misinformation policies. This ban does not apply to Greene's Congressional account, @RepMTG, as it contains tweets that are not in violation of Twitter's rules.
"Maxine Waters can go to the streets and threaten violence on Twitter, Kamala (Harris) and Ilhan (Omar) can bail out Black Lives Matter terrorists on Twitter, CNN and the rest of the Democrat Propaganda Media can spread Russia collusion lies, and just yesterday the Chief spokesman for terrorist IRGC can tweet mourning Soleimani, but I get suspended for tweeting VAERS statistics," Greene explained on GETTR and Telegram.
Greene was previously suspended from the platform this past August for baselessly claiming that masks and vaccines were ineffective at curbing the spread of Covid and that "Vaccine mandates & passports violate individual freedoms." This was considered her "4th Strike," which results in a one-week suspension from posting on the platform.
In response to her permanent suspension, Greene has released a statement on the alternative social platforms GETTR and Telegram to declare Twitter as "an enemy to America," claiming that they "can't handle the truth."
"That’s fine, I’ll show America we don’t need them and it’s time to defeat our enemies," Greene explained. "They can’t successfully complete a Communist revolution when people tell the truth. Social media platforms can’t stop the truth from being spread far and wide. Big Tech can’t stop the truth. Communist Democrats can’t stop the truth."
